With a wheelbase of 132 inches, this matching-numbers 1937 Cord Custom Beverly is powered by a 289ci Lycoming V8 engine mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. It is one of 235 812 Beverlys built in 1937, and one of 997 total Cord vehicles produced for that year. This classic is one of just two 1937 Cords produced with the dual spare tire holders in the front fenders, and is the only armored Cord ever made. This Cord had a meticulous restoration, including preserving its most unique element: the 1937-era armoring. The armor plating has strap-like plates in the doors and a plate behind the rear seat. Over $51,000 was spent on the 2019 restoration. This Cord also comes with an older ACD Certification from the prior owner. The Cord is documented to have been purchased in 1939 in New Orleans and kept until 1952. The Cord was eventually sold to a Canadian auto collector in June 1972 and brought to Amherst, Nova Scotia. The Cord remained in the collection until June 1989 and was then purchased by the current owner and brought to British Columbia.
