This authentic LS6 was certified by expert Jerry MacNeish in October 2019. Only 4,475 LS6 Chevelles were produced in 1970. The LS6 option was the 454/450hp V8 engine. The 1970 LS6 was advertised as “America’s King of the Streets.” This car retains the original VIN plate tag and Trim Tag. This car has two original Build Sheets, and one is still attached to the original cardboard as found. Both Build Sheets are completely legible and have been certified by Jerry MacNeish as authentic. As the two Build Sheets indicate, this car was built at the Lakewood Plant in Atlantic, GA, and ordered with the following options: AO1 - tinted glass, CO8 - vinyl roof cover, D88 - hood and deck stripes, F41 - special performance suspension, GW8 - 4.10 axle ratio, G80 - posi-traction rear axle, J50 - power brakes, JL2 - power front disc, LS6 - 450hp Turbo Jet 454 V8, M22 - HD 4-speed manual transmission, PL4 - F70x14 RWL belted tires, T60 - HD battery, U14 - IP gauges, U27 - glove box lamp, U63 - AM radio, U76 - w/s antenna, ZL2 - special ducted hood, Z15 - SS 454 package, 48 - Dark Green, TOP - Green vinyl and TRM - Green trim. The car was delivered to Benson Chevrolet in Roswell, GA, and dealer exchanged to Nalley Chevrolet in Atlanta, GA. It was purchased on August 5, 1970, by Mr. Gary Lee Rogers, who lived in Jamestown, TN. This information is documented with the original Protect-O-Plate and copies of the original Bill of Sale, Instalment Sale Contract, First Assignment, MSO, Application for Certificate of Title and Title. This car has an extensive amount of ownership history, which is documented with copies of Bills of Sale and Titles. This car was the product of a rotisserie restoration and was restored to show-quality standards throughout. The exterior body is very straight with great gap lines. The doors open and close very nicely. The car was treated to a high-quality paint job in its original colors of Forest Green with white stripes, which is absolutely beautiful. All of the glass was replaced new. Everything on the exterior was restored or replaced, including the window trim, wipers, mirrors, door handles, fender trim, grille, bumpers, lights and emblems. The car sits on correct Firestone Wide Oval F70-14 tires. The interior was finished in its original color of dark green, which is also beautiful. Everything in the interior has been restored or replaced, including the headliner, sun visors, dash, dash hardware, gauges, steering wheel, door panels, seats, seat belts and carpeting. The trunk compartment was restored with a factory-style trunk mat and spare tire. The engine compartment is highly detailed throughout. The car is powered by a correct 454/450hp V8 engine with T03226CRV assembly date, #3963512 engine block and cast L179. This engine was completely rebuilt and runs excellent. The engine is coupled to a correct M22 HD 4-speed manual transmission with P0C05C assembly date and original 1970 #661 case. The undercarriage is also highly detailed throughout. Everything underneath was restored or replaced, including the steering, suspension and braking components. This car runs and drives as good as it looks. The original Build Sheets, original Protect-O-Plate, original owner’s manual, copies of documentation and Jerry MacNeish's certification report is included. This car has recently been serviced, which is documented with an invoice that is included.
