1999 SHELBY SERIES 1 CONVERTIBLE

This early production Series 1, #34 of 249 built, features the optional all-aluminum, 32-valve, double overhead cam supercharged L47 Aurora 4.0-liter V8 engine. The engine is coupled to a ZF 6-speed manual transmission featuring a heavy-duty clutch and a 4.22:1 gear ratio in the independent rear end. It features an all-alloy, double wishbone independent suspension on all four corners and 4-wheel disc brakes. Forged aluminum control arms and spindles used in the Corvette were enhanced by cantilever-style coilover shock absorbers complete with remote reservoirs. The carbon-fiber body is finished in silver with Le Mans stripes and a folding soft-top. The black interior includes a Monsoon sound system and factory air conditioning, as well as power windows, locks and steering. It rides on Shelby 5-spoke aluminum wheels fitted with specially designed Z-rated tires. This Shelby has 10,000 actual miles (the title reads mileage exempt).
