This original Bell AFX-1 prototype helmet was initially worn in testing by Formula 1 and Indy champion Mario Andretti. Afterwards, it was repainted by Bell in Ayrton Senna’s traditional Brazilian colours and used by Senna in testing the McLaren MP4/5b prior to the 1990 season. It is documented by a letter from Bell USA’s former president and a certificate from the memorabilia experts at Collector Studio.
