This 1968 Shelby Mustang GT500 re-creation is finished in Wimbledon White with Guardsman Blue stripes. It received a full restoration with a professional subframe and Lakewood traction bars. It's powered by a 1968 date-coded professionally built 428ci V8 engine with Edelbrock aluminum heads and manifold, roller cam with full roller rockers, Holley 750 cfm carburetor and 9.7:1 compression. The engine is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission that features 4:11 gears. A nodular pumpkin with two-piece billet axles and the rear end was narrowed 1-inch on each side to accommodate larger tires. It features a Ron Davis five-core aluminum radiator. Stopping power comes from the four-wheel disc brakes with stainless brake lines. The suspension features inner shock towers with 0.25-inch steel plates welded on for extra support, lower control arms with steel plates welded for extra support and a custom-made 1.5-inch sway bar on heim joints. The GT500 features a rebuilt close ratio steering box, KONI shocks, remote oil filler, MSD ignition system, new flywheel, chromed electronic vacuum booster and custom carpet kit in the trunk. The battery, as well as a 1965 R-model quick fuel fill adapter, are in the trunk. Inside, VDO gauges are fitted into the original bezel and the glove box door is signed by Carroll Shelby.
